Our Story
a ‘modern’ love story
It all started in the midst of the uncertainty of Covid, when the world seemed to be on pause, but fate was quietly at work. Lauren and Rashaad were both navigating the challenges of college life, each in their own way. Rashaad found himself quarantined after coming into close contact with someone who had been exposed to the virus. Stuck in isolation, he got creative—relying on friends to deliver snacks via a DIY pulley system from his third-floor window. It was a hilarious and endearing sight, and little did he know, it was about to catch the attention of someone very special.
Lauren, from afar, saw this unique moment unfold in a Snapchat story shared by one of Rashaad’s friends. Intrigued by his ingenuity and his playful sense of humor, she couldn’t help but be drawn in. Without hesitation, she added Rashaad on Snapchat, curious to know more about the person behind the clever snack delivery system.
Rashaad, excited by the new friend request, did what any modern-day romantic would do: he “slid into her DMs.” That simple message marked the beginning of something much deeper than either of them could have imagined.
Their first real connection came shortly after, when Rashaad’s quarantine ended, and they finally met in person. What started as a chance encounter born of a quirky moment during a challenging time quickly blossomed into something beautiful and lasting. From that point on, their bond grew stronger, turning a shared love of humor and genuine connection into something that would last a lifetime.
And now, here they are, ready to begin the next chapter of their journey together, with hearts full of love and a story they’ll cherish forever.
